Timeframe for E-commerce Site
Options, Decisions, Banking, Security and Approvals.
The timeframe needed to get your new website to go Live, is mostly based on
your feedback, content, acquiring secure hosting, and providing us with
banking gateway information. The quicker we get this, the
sooner your website will go Live. We will provide support with these task,
but you will need to be deeply involved and work with us in set-up your own
banking and security requirements.
Here's an average build time:
- Day 1, Initial phone call. Idea's and needs discussed in great
detail. If necessary we will set a in-house appointment to meet with
you. It is very rare to need an appointment for small sites.
Appointments are set on a case by case basis as needed. Once the decision is made to
move forward with your project, an invoice is sent for the graphic
design only.
- Day 2, We evaluate your needs, and start brainstorming on
the graphic look of your website.
- Day 3, We receive funds to start the graphic design.
If you have a Logo for your website, we will request it or you may
purchase a custom Logo from us. The graphic design of your website
normally looks best when it's in harmony with your Logo.
- Day 4-6, We email you our ideas/graphic samples for your
approval. Once 100% approval is received we continue.
- Day 7, We will convert your approved graphic design in to the latest web code standards,
and email it to you for your approval. Once 100% approval is received we
continue.
- Week 2, We'll call you, and together we'll
establish your website secure hosting. Once
secure hosting is provided, we'll move
forward with your project, and send you our first invoice for
development.
- Week 3-5, By this time or before, we will
need your digital content, that is your text and photos emailed to us.
If you do not have any content or need help with it, let us know. Some
clients need time to write their text and some request us to provide a
professional copy writer for a fee. We can also help with professional
photos.
Assuming that we have all of your content, we then create all of your
requested pages, such as: Home Page, About Us, Contact Us, etc..
We will also need to create your Product Database, set-up product
purchasing options and shipping if needed. Your Product photos, their
cost, text, and options are crucial information for us to have to
complete this task within this timeframe.
- Week 6-7, A payment gateway must be
established with the information you provide us. We take you info and
code it into your website.
- Week 8-9, It's time to critique all of
your content. We'll request you to visit your new website and make sure
you are 100% happy.
We test your security, shopping cart for errors, and make sure that
sells invoices are being sent to you via your checkout page.
We will request that you test shopping cart with a test credit card
account that we will provide to you.
Once approval is received we will make the your new
website go Live and send you our final invoice for development.
